Joyce Owen, B.A. Econ., CFP, CLU, CFDS Ottawa, ON
Joyce Owen is a Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist (CFDS)—among the first in Canada to receive specialized training and the professional designation from the College for Divorce Specialists in 2002 (now known as the Academy of Financial Divorce Specialists) and Certified Financial Planner with more than 25 years of experience in the financial industry. A collaboratively trained financial professional, Joyce works with divorcing couples, lawyers and therapists.
Joyce obtained a Bachelor Arts Economics from the University of Madras, and her designations include Certified Financial Planner (CFP) from the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Life Underwriters and Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist – Advanced Accreditation (CFDS-AA).
Joyce is a member of Advocis (Financial Advisors Association of Canada), the Academy of Financial Divorce Specialists, and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Ms. Owens also served as a board member and treasurer of the Ontario Collaborative Law Federation (now Ontario Association of Collaborative Professionals) and is a former treasurer of Collaborative Practice Ottawa (now Collaborative Divorce Ottawa).
