Meet our first CFDS-AA’s who successfully satisfied the standards for holding this designation:
Eva Sachs, Toronto, ON
Ms. Sachs graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.Comm in economics/accounting, earned her CFP from FP Canada (the Financial Planning Standards Council) over 15 years ago, and became a Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist in 2015.
A member of the Academy of Financial Divorce Specialists and Collaborative Divorce Toronto, Ms Sachs deals with divorce money matters supporting couples/individuals working with traditional lawyers, mediation and collaborative practice.
Ms Sachs has produced a series of interviews with Family Law Lawyer/Mediator Zahra Taseer discussing situations people face when considering or during divorce and has been interviewed by Women of Influence.
In the media, Ms Sachs has been interviewed by John Panagakos, family lawyer Leanne Townsend, Rob Carrick from the Globe & Mail, Barb DiGiulio on Newstalk 1010 Radio, Jeff Hutcheson on CTV news, as well as Dan Richards, president, ClientInsights, at the TMX in Toronto Broadcast Centre in Toronto with family lawyer Marion Korn to discuss their book, “When Harry left Sally: Finding your way through grey divorce”. Miss Sachs divorce articles have appeared in the Globe and Mail, MoneySense, and CBC News.

Chartered Financial Divorce Specialist designation – Advanced Accreditation (CFDS-AA)
The following requirements must be met to be grandfathered for this higher designation:
- Graduated CFDS
- E & O insurance coverage up to date
- Three (3) letters of endorsement from other professionals who worked on cases together
- Checklist for endorsement (see application)
- Proof of other designations (if applicable)
For those eligible to be grandfathered, the temporary discount is available until August 31st
July 1st to August 31st – $500 + HST
The criteria to determine eligibility for grandfathering is available via a preliminary form you can request via info@afds.ca specifying ‘Mentor Designation Grandfathering’ in the subject line.
