Proven training methods for success

Both the self-study and in-class courses contain exactly the same material. The self-study course exams are "open book" and can be completed on your own time at your home or office. All course lectures, software demonstrations etc. are on DVD for review at any time. Self-study enrollment is on a continuous basis. Help is available through the internet and by telephone. Those registered for the self-study program have the option of attending future in-class training for an additional cost of only $350 at anytime within two years of registration for the self-study program.

Those taking the in-class course are sent all course material upon registration and are expected to complete the first module of the course (read text book - view videos etc) prior to attendance. They can write the final case study on the third day of the in-class course on their own lap top computer or complete at their own time at home or office.

Following successful completion of the training segments and case studies, the candidate is awarded the designation of Financial Divorce Specialist, CE Credits and first year membership in the Academy. A reminder that help, if required, is always available by e-mail and toll-free telephone.

2012 In-Class training to be announced


FDS designation in-class training consists of two days instructional lectures and demonstrations while the third day (optional) is for those who wish to stay on site to write the final case study exam. The in-class course includes breakfast and lunch plus all coffee breaks included

Those wishing to take the training through self-study can begin at any time and course material will be sent out by courier for "next day" delivery. Go to the Registration page for payment options.

The self-study program is priced at $335.00 per module or $1,100 for all four modules if paying in advance. Also those registering for the self-study program have the option of within two years attending in-class training for just $350.00. The In-Class course is priced at $1,650.00 with "early bird" discounts available. All prices include taxes and shipping and handling.

Note: The FDS (Financial Divorce Specialist) training is specifically intended for those in the financial planning and accounting professions. Applicants must have (or be working towards) a recognized professional designation such as CFP®, R.F.P. PFP, CLU, CHFC, CA, CMA, CGA, etc. CE credits available (Advocis 44.75) (IIROC 30) (Other credits - Sask. - Alberta - Quebec)

Training can be either by distance education through "self-study" or "in-class". Whether by correspondence or in-person the course covers all pertinent areas related to the division of assets including the various tax aspects of separation and divorce. Course participants are fully informed as to their role in evaluating various scenarios that may be considered by the individuals involved. Particular attention is devoted to the position of the Financial Divorce Specialist in relation to other professional partners in the divorce process including lawyers, mediators and mental health workers etc.

Advanced "in-class" training sessions are held each year. Those who cannot attend the advanced training days can purchase the content material by contacting the Academy. Yearly membership renewal with latest financial divorce related information and software updates. Payment can be mail, fax, phone or any major credit card or Pay Pal.
